Charity Support

We support various charities from year to year.  
 

In 2013/2014 the main charities that we supported were:
 

TINY LIFE - Northern Ireland's preTiny Life Logomature and vulnerable baby charity, dedicated to reducing premature birth, illness, disability and death in babies born in NI.

In March 2013 we raised over £1700 for Tiny Life by taking part in 'Operation Lipstick', an outdoor team challenge held at Castlewellan Forest Park. Read news story.

 

 MARIE CURIE CANCER CARE- Marie Curie Cancer Care iMarie Curie Logos a UK charity dedicated to the care of people with terminal illnesses. In 2012-13 they cared for 38,777 people.

In October 2013 we had two teams take part in the annual Driving Challenge, One of our teams, the Rocky Road Racers were placed first out of the 25 teams that took part. Teams got to manoeuvre various extraordinary vehicles such as a fire engine, a street cleaner, a snow plough, a digger and a police landrover.

We raised an amazing £3087 from sponsorship for the event.

 

IRISH BAKERS BENEVOLENT SOCIETY - Now in its 18th year, the IBBS was founded by Gerry McNamara, Sean Maguire and Pat Smyth to address the situations where want and need arose for colleagues in the trade. 

In October 2013, we raised over €600 for the IBBS as a result of the raffle we held on our Golf Day.

 

NORTHERN IRELAND CHEST HEART AND STROKE BABY HEARTS APPEAL - The Baby NICHS LogoHearts Study is a pioneering research project– funded by Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke (NICHS) – which aims to increase the understanding of the possible causes of congenital heart disease.

In March we held a customer and supplier event in Dublin.  All proceeds from the day were split between two charities, one of them being NICHS Baby Hearts Appeal. Each charity received €1000 donation.

 

THE CHILDREN'S MEDICAL & RESEARCH FOUNDATION, OUR LADCMRF LogoY'S HOSPITAL CRUMLIN, DUBLIN - The Children’s Medical & Research Foundation (CMRF) is the principal fundraising body for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin as well as the National Children’s Research Centre and is dedicated to working to improve the quality of life for this and future generations of sick children.

In March we held a customer and supplier event in Dublin.  All proceeds from the day were split between two charities, one of them being CMRF. Each charity received €1000 donation.

 

MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT -  Macmillan is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. As well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support's goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK.

In September 2014 we raised £326.00 for Macmillan by taking part in their annual coffee morning.

IRISH BAKERS BENEVOLENT SOCIETY - Now in its 17th year, the IBBS was founded by Gerry McNamara, Sean Maguire and Pat Smyth to address the situations where want and need arose for colleagues in the trade.

  

RNLI  The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. They provide, on call, a 24-hourRNLI Logo lifeboat search and rescue service and a seasonal lifeguard service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboats, and since 2001, its lifeguards, have saved more than 140,000 lives. The RNLI is an independent charity, funded by voluntary donations. They could not save lives at sea without the public's support.

We funded two new life jackets in March 2012. One was for the Newcastle, Co Down Station and the other was sent to Bundoran, Co Donegal. Read news article.  
   
 

AGE NI  Age NI is the new charity combining Age Concern NI and HAge NI Logoelp the Aged in Northern Ireland. They deliver care services, provide advice and advocacy, fundraise and influence our decision-makers to improve later life for us all.
   
  CLIC Sargent

CLIC SARGENT  CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families. They provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life. 
 

MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT -  We raised £240.00 for Macmillan by taking part in their annual coffee morning.
