We recently held a 'Coffee Shop Concepts' eventCoffee Shop Concepts in our test bakery and kitchen in association with supplier Macphie of Glenbervie. There was great interest from our customers and the morning session was quickly oversubscribed resulting in an additonal session being held in the afternoon. The event was run in the style of a coffee shop where existing and potential customers were able to chat about the products they were presented with and share ideas.
James McClean, Business Development Manager at Macphie gave us a presentation on the company and Keri Cummings, Category Marketing Executive brought us up to speed on key industry trends for not only coffee shop operators but also for retail and wholesale bakeries alike.
Then it was time for the best part, the sampling of a huge range of superb products, both savoury and sweet including soups made using Macphie savoury sauces and delicious savoury goodies like Brioche Sliders and Stout & Wild Garlic Sausage Rolls. Afternoon tea concepts included innovative applications such as Cardamom Scones, 'Thumbprint Cookies', and 'Proud Danish'. This was followed by a range of impressive cakes, muffins and tarts. Finally a platter of mini desserts was served, all made using Macphie desserts, sweet sauces and UHT products.
Feedback from attendees has been very positive about the event and the products and ideas presented. We are confident that many of these indulgent goodies will be making their way to a coffee shop or bakery near you soon!
